Reading Partners

At DC Prep, volunteers play an essential role in helping us achieve our mission — working in our school libraries, providing tutoring during our PrepNext study halls, and assisting in classrooms.


Since 2010, DC Prep has worked with Reading Partners, an organization that pairs volunteer tutors with students in 1st through 5th grade for 1:1 hour-long sessions to improve students’ reading skills. Reading Partners gives volunteers the training they need to be successful and provides tailored, structured lessons that focus on each child's individual reading needs.

Reading Partners is based at the DC Prep Edgewood Elementary Campus and operates during the school day, with volunteers committing to at least one hour each week.
