DC Prep Campuses Are Tier 1 Schools on 2016 School Quality Reports

October 13 2016 | School News

All DC Prep campuses are Tier 1 schools on the DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) 2016 School Quality Reports, also known as the Performance Management Framework or PMF. The reports offer a comprehensive overview of public charter schools in the city – measuring performance on a variety of indicators including test scores, attendance, and re-enrollment rates, among others – and serve as a resource for families in search of high-quality educational options for their children.

The School Quality Reports score each school between 0-100, placing the school in one of three performance tiers. Tier 1 are top-performing schools, Tier 2 are mid-performing, and Tier 3 are low-performing.

Since establishing the rankings five years ago, eligible DC Prep campuses have consistently been awarded Tier 1 status. In the 2016 School Quality Reports, DC Prep is the only network of public charter schools with exclusively Tier 1-ranked schools: Edgewood Elementary and Middle Campuses (EEC and EMC) as well as the Benning Elementary and Middle Campuses (BEC and BMC). And, as the first year of including elementary campuses in the 2016 rankings, both EEC and BEC achieved Tier 1 status.

Although DC Prep’s Anacostia Elementary Campus did not receive a Tier ranking, given that its inaugural school year was 2015-16, it is the highest scoring new school – and new Early Childhood school – citywide.
