While harder to measure than straightforward academic achievement, DC Prep students are also growing as young citizens and leaders. We keep a close eye on their daily behaviors including attendance, punctuality, and thorough homework completion – habits that correlate closely with school and career success. And we recognize and celebrate student growth in these realms.
We also monitor students' attitudes about school and about their futures. On the most recent annual Student Survey, students responded to the statement, "Since coming to DC Prep, I care more about doing well in school" with an average rating of 4.4 on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 5 (yes, definitely). And when asked if they are "confident that they will attend college", the students responded with a very positive 4.7 on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 5 (yes, definitely), with 94% of students giving a ranking of 4 or better.
Parents also note exciting changes in their children. Selected average responses from our annual Parent Survey reflect the positive character development that parents' perceive as the result of a DC Prep education.
