Alexis Hart – 5th Grader, Edgewood Middle Campus
"I like all the attention the teachers give us… Even though the work is hard, they make it fun."
Fifth grader Alexis Hart came to DC Prep last year, when she was in 4th grade. Alexis says that a big difference between her previous school and DC Prep is her homework – at her old school, she had 2-3 assignments per night, and none on Friday; at DC Prep, she has 7 assignments every night, including Fridays.
Even though she has more homework, Alexis much prefers DC Prep. She reports that her favorite teachers "always smile, and even though the work is hard, they make it fun." Alexis says that her favorite thing about DC Prep is "all the attention the teachers give us. They give us tough love. Like when I'm excited about learning and I blurt out an answer, I get consequences. That's 'tough love.' That's how they take care of us."
