DC Prep students posted some of the highest test scores in Washington on the 2010 DC-CAS. Overall, 72% of students at the Edgewood Elementary and Middle Campuses were proficient or advanced in both Reading and Math. And 100% of DC Prep's 8th graders — the students who have been at DC Prep the longest — were proficient or advanced in Math, while 94% achieved those levels in Reading. As shown on the chart below, DC Prep's students are dramatically outperforming their peers in all parts of the city in both regular public and charter schools.

The outstanding results at DC Prep's Edgewood Middle Campus place it in the top three schools in Washington in Reading and the top four in Math. And when looking only at low-income students, DC Prep earns the #1 spot in Reading and the #2 in Math. DC Prep's mission is to bridge the education divide in Washington by providing a top-notch education to students in the city's most under-resourced communities. Student performance on the 2010 DC-CAS provides clear evidence that DC Prep is achieving that goal.

High School Placement
In June 2010, DC Prep graduated its fourth 8th grade class. Once again, 100 % of students were accepted at independent, parochial, selective public, and charter schools where the rigor, culture, and focus are on college matriculation.
Members of the 2010 graduating class join other DC Prep alumni who have been offered admission at such independent schools such as Philliips Academy (Andover), Blue Ridge Academy, the Bullis School, the Field School, Georgetown Visitation, the Potomac School, Proctor Academy, Stone Ridge School, St. Albans, St. Margarets, Sidwell Friends School, Stuart Hall, and Woodberry Forest; parochial schools including Archbishop Carroll High School, DeMatha High School, Don Bosco Cristo Rey, and Elizabeth Seaton, and selective public (magnet) schools including Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, McKinley Technology High School, and School Without Walls.
To date, DC Prep students have been awarded more than $2M in scholarship support.
