Compensation and Benefits

DC Prep offers a highly competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package with the opportunity to earn merit bonuses and raises based on individual performance and overall organizational performance including student achievement.

Key elements of the employee benefit package include:
  • Health insurance provided through Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield that includes both dental and vision plans as well as prescription drugs.
  • An optional 403b retirement plan provided through TIAA -CREF.
  • Short-term and long-term disability.
  • Life insurance.
Teachers receive paid vacation during the school's winter, spring and summer breaks; administrative staff have winter and spring vacations and a two week break in the summer. All employees are entitled to paid federal holidays and ten additional personal days. DC Prep "buys back" any unused personal days that faculty members may have left at the end of the school year. Finally, all employees receive a laptop computer for their professional use and receive monthly cell phone stipends.
