DC Prep offers comprehensive, top-of-market health insurance benefits with low or zero deductibles and generous matching contributions. Team members can enroll in individual medical and dental coverage at no cost to them.

Our plan offerings include:

• Medical and prescription drug coverage through CareFirst BlueCross/Blue Shield’s HMO, Open Access, and PPO plans
• Dental coverage through MetLife with a “buy up” option covering pediatric and adult orthodontia
• Standard vision coverage through GVS

Eligible employees may contribute to a 403(b) retirement fund managed by The Principal Financial Group. After one year, DC Prep will match the employee’s contribution up to 5% of their salary.

As an added benefit, all team members have access to comprehensive retirement and financial planning services from independent certified financial planners.

DC Prep partners with Bright Horizons to provide staff with 10 days of high-quality in-center or in-home back-up care for children, dependent adult, and elder family members during a lapse in normal care arrangements. Bright Horizons also offers discounts and preferential enrollment at its network of daycare centers.

The FSA is a tax-advantaged account allowing employees to set aside a portion of earnings to pay for qualifying expenses including medical expenses, dependent care, and commuter expenses.

DC Prep matches employee contributions to their commuter FSA for transit purchases up to $50 per month (contributions for parking purchases are not matched).

All DC Prep employees are automatically enrolled, at no cost to them, in short-term and long-term disability policies as well as a $50,00 life/AD&D insurance policy.

Additionally, team members can also purchase supplemental insurance policies, including:

• Portable term life policies for themselves, their spouse, and their dependent children
• Accident, hospitalization, and critical illness policies for themselves, their spouse, and their dependent children
• Legal services access plan for their family

Through a combination of federal holidays, DC Prep winter, spring, and summer vacations, and ten personal days, DC Prep offers school-site staff a generous amount of paid time off. DC Prep also “buys back” half of an employee’s unused personal days each year.

Many area gyms, including Washington Sports Clubs, offer discounted rates for DC Prep employees.

Staff who subscribe to the CareFirst insurance plans also have access to the Blue365 discount program, which provides significant discounts on area gym memberships, wellness services, and equipment.

DC Prep offers maternity, paternity, and parental paid leave at a set portion of the employee’s salary. Employees may also apply their personal days and unused vacation to their leave and receive 100% of pay. The Family and Medical Leave Act provides for additional unpaid leave.

Employees receive a laptop computer for their professional use.

Teachers at DC Prep still paying off federal student loans may qualify for loan forgiveness on Stafford loans or to have Perkins loans cancelled. And employees of DC Prep are eligible to join the DC Teachers Federal Credit Union, which offers free checking, lower rates, and fewer fees.

Employees can receive a $1,000 Referral Bonus for recommending talented candidates who are hired by DC Prep.
