How to Enroll

Prospective DC Prep families can begin their journey with us by submitting an application through My School DC, DC's citywide application system used to apply to DC public schools and participating public charter schools.

If your child receives an offer through the lottery or is offered a seat from the waitlist, the next step is to complete our enrollment process to secure their seat and officially become a Preppie.

Complete your online enrollment form as soon as possible using the unique Snapcode we emailed to you. You can easily fill it out on a computer, tablet, or smartphone, whatever works best for you.

Once you complete your enrollment form, email your proof of residency documents to enrollment@dcprep.org — please ensure your documents are clear if you are submitting photos or scanned copies. For your convenience, you can find the full list of acceptable documents here.

Once DC Prep has reviewed your proof of residency documents and confirmed they meet requirements, we’ll send you a simple electronic form for your electronic signature.

DC Prep participates in the My School DC Lottery, and we are accepting applications for the upcoming school year! We are free and open to all DC residents.

Tips for a successful application:

• Create 1 account per family, with a separate application for each child.
• Ranking matters – rank all DC Prep campuses as your top choices, starting with the campus closest to your residence to increase your chances of being matched.
• DC Prep waitlists are not carried over from year to year. Families must reapply.
