All three of DC Prep’s middle school campuses – Anacostia Middle Campus, Benning Middle Campus, and Edgewood Middle Campus – have been recognized by the DC Math Hub and EmpowerK12 this year as citywide math “Bright Spots” for achieving high math growth for students, according to the DC Math Report. 

This is the first year a DC Math Report has been released by the DC Math Hub and EmpowerK12. DC Prep campuses have been awarded EmpowerK12’s Bold Performance recognition many times in past years. The DC Math Hub is a coalition at the DC Educational Research Collaborative whose research evaluates the most effective strategies for math instruction. EmpowerK12 is a nonprofit organization whose research highlights bright spots in education at the system, school, and classroom levels.
