PrepNext is a program designed to help DC Prep's graduates with their next steps.

We are committed to the success of our alumni in high school and through college and career. Our goal is for all of our students to move to and through a strong post-secondary pathway and into an interest-aligned career that allows for economic self-sufficiency. PrepNext supports all DC Prep alumni for 10 years after 8th-grade graduation throughout their educational journeys and the start of their careers, focusing especially on times of transition: 8th to 9th grade, high school to higher education, and school to career.

PrepNext counselors’ work begins as 8th-grade students prepare to graduate from DC Prep.

Our High School Transition team of counselors focus on the critical transition into high school, ensuring that our alumni maintain the drive, stamina, and strong work habits developed at DC Prep as they move to the larger and often more anonymous world of high school. Our College and Career Access team engages deeply with students throughout their college application process, ensuring that students can access a goal-aligned and financially viable Post-Secondary Plan. Our College Success and Career Success teams continue to support our alumni as they transition to and through college and career. All students, at every stage of their educational journey, have access to a counselor, PrepNext programming opportunities, our PrepNext Alumni Association, and our Covid Support Scholarship Fund.

PrepNext works to help graduates succeed by providing the following support:
