Emily Jeffries is the resident principal of DC Prep’s Edgewood Elementary Campus (EEC). She joined DC Prep in 2013 at our Benning Elementary Campus (BEC) after working at Coney Island Prep in NYC. Emily was the special education coordinator at BEC for seven years before taking a brief leave from DC Prep to be home with her three children. During that time, she consulted in many different roles at DC Prep before coming back home to EEC in 2022. Emily received her undergraduate degrees in psychology and education from Wagner College, and her Master of Education degree in special education from Pace University. Emily is passionate about creating strong and joyful classrooms. She is committed to every student in the building and believes in making EEC a place where students and staff want to stay for a long time.
