At a recent meeting, DC Prep’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to reinstate Emily Lawson as CEO of DC Prep. Lawson has been serving on an interim basis since Fall 2013.

“The Board is delighted that Emily will step back into a leadership role at DC Prep,” said Le Roy (Terry) Eakin III, DC Prep’s Board Chair. “It will be a seamless transition – one that DC Prep stands to benefit tremendously from as the organization embarks on its second decade of bridging the educational divide in Washington.”

Lawson, who founded DC Prep in 2003 and served as its original CEO from 2003-2012, has acted as a consultant and Board Member since 2012, when she initially transitioned out of the CEO position.

“I have enjoyed being back at DC Prep immensely, and am looking forward to continuing my work with our team and Board to ensure that we are executing on our mission and serving the needs of our faculty, students, and alumni,” said Lawson.
